I did lots of inking and distressing on the layers in this layout, used a few Prima flowers, a MS punch and some liquid pearls.

I did some resist stamping, inking and crackle accents on the Dusty Attic pieces and tucked in a Prima doily between the layers.

Below are just a couple more close-ups of the layout.

Well that is it for today, don’t forget to swing on by Sketchabilities and check out all the layouts to go with the fabulous sketch. It is always fun to see so many different takes on one sketch. Flowers - TCR#55

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. I just got home yesterday from being away and I bought so many scrapping goodies while I was gone J I have wanted to try Gesso for so long now and finally I got some. I used a tutorial from Irene Tan aka Scrapperlicious to get the misting, gesso, technique; you can see her blog here. I used this week’s palette from the Color Room to base my colors on.  Most of the mists I made myself with alcohol inks and perfect pearls. The photo is my grand daughter Kylee and I altered it in photoshop elements.

The misted cardstock is white and I added some Gesso and lots of different colors of mists. In this close up you can see the distressed and inked edges and the different misting and how the gesso acts as a resist to the mists.  I used a Tim Holtz mask in the back ground also.

I added a doily around the photo and a frame that is adhered with pop ups. The flowers are all from Prima and the canvas piece is also Prima.

Close up of the title section and I added some Zva Crystals.

The butterfly is a piece from Dusty Attic and I had fun with this one. It is misted and inked and glossy accents added to it. I dipped it in water and peeled it into layers to give it the 3D effect.

Well that is it for today. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. I think I am getting addicted to cards ohoh..and now I ordered a cuttlebug for embossing so it is going to get worse I tell  ya!!! hehe
I made this card using this week’s palette #54 at The Color Room. I used Prima papers from an older collection and the yellow flowers and chipboard sticker are from their new Botanical Collection. I added some pearls and liquid pearls, a piece of Prima lace and some crinkle seam binding for the bow. Lately, I am loving the crinkle seam binding too.

Well that is it for today. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Blossom – card

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. This is my second attempt at this card for this challenge at My Mind’s Eye..silly me I did not read the blog closely enough the first time and realised after I made the card that it is supposed to be April Shower’s theme…lol. So here is my second card for this challenge. I used gorgeous My Mind’s Eye papers and added in a few goodies. The two little chippy flowers are from Dusty Attic and I used a tutorial there to alter them. They have awesome tutorials and you should check them out. I used lots of pop ups on each layer so there is lots of dimension on this little card.

Well that is it for today. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Delightfully Cute TCR #54

Well another weekend is almost shot and done, back to work tomorrow. I am lucky though..I only have to work 2 days this week, then I am off for a few days vacation. I made this layout using TCR #54 palette. I had a terrible time with this one, the first layout I made I went mist happy on it and had to turf it…it was a disaster of pink mess. lol. So this is my 2nd layout for this palette and I like this one much much more. It is called Delightfully Cute and the photo is my sweet grand daughter Kylee. I used Basic Grey papers for this layout and distressed all the layers and used a Prima mask to mask the center of the layout.

Here you can see the distressing and the masking. I used some liquid pearls on the one piece.

Here is a close up of the title section. I tucked in a piece of doily between the layers and added more liquid pearls to the title.

In the top corner are 2 pieces of Dusty Attic chippys. The snow flake tucked in the flowers is inked a few colors to get it right and then I used glossy accents on it. The corner swirl was done the same and I added some stickles and gems to it.

The large DA piece I used inks and crackle accents on. I then added some stickles and gems to it.

I tucked in another doily and one more snow flake with the large flower cluster.

Well that is it for today. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Very Easy Chippy AlterationsTutorial

Hi every one, this will be my first of 2 posts for today. At the beginning of April I was a Featured Artist at Scrapbook New and Review and this is the tutorial that I did with that feature layout.  Have you noticed that one of the big new embellishments is chippys, but what do you do with them, how do you alter them? Well I am going to show you my version of three very simple ways to finish them and my layout with them on it.

Supplies needed:
Inks, chalks, Distress stain, mists…what ever you wish to cover your chippy with
Glossy Accents or Crackle Accents
Gems or pearls

Piece 1 - Corner Scrolls
Step 1
First I misted them with both Perfect Pearls and Smooch. I used my heat tool to dry them.

Step 2
I applied a coat of Glossy Accents and let this dry. This is going to give your chippy a high glossy effect when it is finished. If you want a crackle effect add Crackle Accents or Distress Crackle instead. This photo is what they look like right after applying the GA. Once completely dried and added to my layout I added a couple of gems in the centers.

Piece 2  - Title Cherish
Step 1
This one is so easy. I just painted the top half with Pink Smooch and the bottom half with Mocha Smooth. I used my heat tool to dry this and then added Crackle Accents to it.

Piece 3 – Vine

Step 1
First I cut this vine in half to get more use from it. Then I covered it with Distress Stain and used my heat gun to dry it. Next I just added two different colors of chalk inks and covered it with Glossy Accents.

As you can see the chippys add so much to a layout for texture and dimention. They are easy to alter and there is so many ways to do that, playing around with them is the best way to learn. Swirlydoos and Dusty Attic both have wonderful tutorials on altering the chippys as well.

Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Happy Birthday Card and Tag Set

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. I just love love love this little card and tag set that I made for my daughters upcoming birthday. I used Bo Bunny Gabrielle collection papers from my Swirlydoos April kit and a few other goodies from my stash. I will put a gift card with the tag inside the pocket. I can not say what the gift card will be because I bet she is lurking and snooping on here for hints....she is sneaky! I did some distressing on the tag and added some twine to it.

When you open up the card there is the pocket for the gift card and tag. I machine stitched the pocket on and added a butterfly and some crystal swirls.

On the front I used lots of pop ups for dimension and added some liquid pearls all over the place. The bow is made from vintage crinkle seam binding and I added another crystal swirl.

Well I had so much fun making this card and I think she is going to love it. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

True Beauty **Cardabilities #29**

I am back for the second time today lol…..I went over to Cardabilities to see the design team reveal and was so inspired by the sketch and the DT cards that I decided to play along.

I used Bo Bunny Gabrielle collection papers from my Swirlydoos April kit, and a few other goodies from my stash. I did some machine stitching and distressing on the bottom layer. The other layers have been fussy cut and punched. I added some liquid pearls to the deep green layer and the top piece. I used pop ups on all the layers to give it some dimension.

Ok that is really it for today now lol…although…I am working on a layout for The Color Room. lol..but that will not be ready today. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Family – Sketchabilities #45

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog and the release of Sketchabilites #45. The sketches are gorgeous to work with and there was a new announcement today. Everyone now has a chance to be a guest designer..how exciting is that. Ok so on with my layout for today’s release. The photos are my grand daughter Kylee, she is just a sweetie. I used Basic Grey Curio papers and lots of goodies from my stash.

In this close up you can see the masking that I did with a Prima mask. I added some smooch and liquid pearls to the masked area. I distressed this layer of paper and did lots of inking on the edges with Distress inks. The butterflies, I printed them out, and added a gem and some stickles to them. I clipped off a piece of the vine and added a little mirror embellishment from my stash.
Tip: use pop ups to adhere embellishments like butterflies, it gives them some extra dimension.

The flower cluster is a mixture of a Prima vine and the pink flowers I made myself. I used a tutorial from my friend Lisa and you can see it here.

I punched the circle with a Martha Stewart corner punch and I used the same punch for the photo mats. I tucked in a post card that I water distressed a bit.
Tip: I like to ink the edges on water distressed areas to really bring out the raised areas and make them pop a bit.

Well that is my Sketchabilities #45. I hope to see all of you come and play along with us over there, the sketches are awesome. Thank you so much for stopping in for a peek. I hope that you all have a fantastic week, be safe and stay warm. Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
