Spoil Yourself **Sketchabilities**

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. I am away visiting my daughter and scheduled this post,so I hope it worked lol. Today’s layout is for reveal day at Sketchabilities. Karan designed this gorgeous sketch and it was fun to work with. I did lots of distressing, stamping and masking. The photo is me and my daughter on our way shopping in Vegas.

Here is a close up of the bottom corner. You can see all the stamping around the outside edges and under the masking. I used Prima papers and lots of Prima goodies on this layout. Almost everything here is from my Swirlydoos kits. The bluish purple flowers I made myself using my cricut. The title piece is a chippy from Dusty Attic. I first painted it white then used some chalks on it and glossy accents.

This is a close up of the masking in the center of the layout. The border scroll is also a chippy. I painted it white first, than I stamped it and chalked it and added some glossy accents and liquid pearls to it. I also tucked in lots of layers of goodies behind the photo.

Couple more shots of the layers and masking.

Well that is it for today. Do not forget to stop by Sketchabilities and look at all the gorgeous layouts from the Design Team. So Sad

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. My son and family arrived yesterday for a few days of visiting family and friends. I got lots of photos yesterday and this is one of them. The photo is my grand daughter and she is so sad that her left for a bit. I used papers from the girl’s paperie and this weeks palette from TCR. I also decided to use the sketch this week at Once Upon a  … Sketch. I so lack in journaling and definitely want to journal more often. This is the palette and the sketch.

This is my take on it. I did lots of distressing and lots of layers. I did machine stitching and did lots of masking and stamping.

In the top corner you can see the machine stitching and the stamping and masking under the layers. The cute little butterflies are from a MS punch then I just inked them and added some pearls to them.

Close up of the journaling section. It reads.
At this moment your lil heart is broken.
Your dad has gone into town without you.
You hope he is home soon.
You miss him already.

Close up of the flower cluster and layers of goodies and I tucked in a Dusty Attic scroll piece.

Close up of the masking that I did to match up to the color palette.

Ok well that is it for today. I love the masking on this layout with the soft colors, and the journaling was fun. I will have to try that again soon. I am off tomorrow for some fun activities with the grand kids….cant wait. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

girls **SOUS**

Well Happy Friday everyone!!! First I have some news! I have been asked by Stuck on U Sketches to become part of their Design Team. I am so excited, their team is full of so many wonderfully talented designers and the sketches are amazing. So here is the first sketch that I got to work with…it is by Liz Qualman. I enjoyed the sketch so much I made a layout and a card for it.

First up ..the layout. It is called “girls” ( I need help with titles I know I am terrible with them, hehe ) and the photo is my two daughters. I used lots of Prima papers and goodies for this layout. I started by distressing most of the layers and inking them.

I tucked some Dusty Attic snow flakes, vines and chicken wire into the flower clusters.

In the top corner you can see all the layers and more DA tucked into the smaller cluster.

Ok so when I saw the sketch I was worried…I do not make good looking banners, so the search was on for a style for one.  I remembered that Tina had a great banner and I sent her a message that I was going to use that banner as a template for mine…here is the link to her blog. She is a super talented girl. I curled some paper on each end of the banner and used lots of inks on it and topped it off with some ribbon.

Next up is the little card that I made….also based on the same sketch. I used some of my favourite Glitz papers and lots of other goodies here. I love the machine stitching and the deep green seam binding and bow.

Ok well that is it J I had a great time working on both of these projects. Don’t forget to head on over to SOUS for tonnes of inspiration. We would all love to see your interpretation of this sketch. Thanks again for stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Card **Swirlydoos**

Ok so last month I got all these LaBlanche stamps from Swirlydoos, then I had the hmmm now what do I do with them? So I decided, I bet that would be cool on a card. So here it is. There are actually two stamped images here. The first is a script stamp that I used resist inks on, if you look closely on the edges you can see it. The second is the main stamp. I first stamped the image, than I started to used distress inks and nibs to paint the stamped area. Once I got to how I wanted it, I tore the edges and used more distress inks on the edges. After everything was dry I used a very thick layer of glossy accents on the main stamped image.

I just used cardstocks and Prima masks for the background. I used some moon shadow mists and distress inks on the masking.

I added some seam binding and roses on the bottom.

I finished it off with a Dusty Attic butterfly that I used smooch paints on and added some gems to it. Here is a close up of the script edges also.

I really love the way this turned out and I will use it as maybe a special card. I did not put a title on it so that I can use it for anything. This was so much fun and now that I know what I can do with those stamps I will make lots more cards. I hope that you have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Explore **Swirlydoos**

Woo hoo it’s the weekend! I love my weekends and my garden is coming along great now. I just went outside and picked a salad for tonight. Yummy! I whipped up this layout after work yesterday with my June Swirlydoos kit and sketch, and I used this weeks colors from The Color Room. Sometimes a layout just comes together perfectly and so fast, and this was one of them. Mind you I had altered the Dusty Attic frame the night before, but besides that I think it only took me a little over an hour to make. I love this little photo of a friend’s son and thought it was perfect for this layout.

I did lots of distressing on the bottom layers and here you can see the masking that I did under the DA frame. I used moon shadow mists, inks and gesso on the masking. This is only half of the DA frame, I first painted it, than I used some distress stains and inks, micas and crackle accents on it. I then fancied it up with some leaf ribbon and flowers. Pssst don’t loot at the off center masking up top J Hey when there is boo boos embellish more right J

Close up of the flower cluster, I tucked in some hairy ribbon stuff (hehe, I do not know what it is called, it is like wool?) and I tusked in some fabric leaves from Prima.

Just a few more side shots of the masking with gesso and the layers.

Well that is it for today.  That was such a fun layout to make. Any layout with masking is always so much fun.  Did I mention that I was asked to be on another team..he he.. FUN! I am not sure when I can tell though, maybe this week I can spill on it. I hope that you have a fantastic weekend.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Tender

Wow it is Thursday already! The weeks are going by way too fast and it still feels like Spring weather today, actually had fresh snow on the mountains yesterday eeeeeeeek! OK on with the layout I have to show you today. I used gorgeous papers and goodies from my June Swirlydoos kit and I used this months sketch at Dusty Attic. The photos are my daughter and family…I have scrapped them before but they fit perfectly with this layout, so I will give this one to her.

I did lots of distressing on the outer layers and I made the blue flowers in the clusters. Under each photo is a piece of Dusty Attic. I first painted them white then I inked them with blues and black. I added some black smooch to them and some liquid pearls.

In this close up you can see the ZVA pearls that I each title is also from DA. They are first painted white then I used some blue chalk ink and stickles on the bottom of each one.

Here is a close up of the big piece of DA, you can see some of the blue showing through.

Well that is it for today. The Color Room releases its next palette tonight, so I will probably start that one tomorrow. Thanks for stopping in  and have a great week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Make the Most of Yourself

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog again today hehe J I am going to get my Glitz on again with this little card that I made. I used goodies from my Swirlydoos kit for this and I used this months sketch over at Glitz. It is gorgeous and it is perfect for a layout or card.
I just love these papers, they are so vibrant and really perfect for a happy card. I used lots of layers and inking on this card and did some distressing and stitching on the outside of it.

Well that is it for me for today for sure this time….have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J

Welcome to My Garden **Sketchabilities**

Happy Hump Day everyone!!!! It is a new reveal day over at Sketchabilities and what a gorgeous sketch this time. Karan just keeps pumping out the gorgeous sketches time after time, I do not know how she does it. OOOO and I almost forgot to tell…I have been invited back for another 3 month term at Sketchabilities too. We are allowed to only do 2 terms so this one will be my last. Ok on with the reveal, here is my take on the sketch. I used My Mind’s Eye papers and lots of goodies on this layout. Such a hard thing for me, I left empty space, yepp I did…..empty space! AND I did NOOOO distressing. The photos are from one of my flower gardens.

On the top you can see all the layers that I used. The white flowers are from Prima, as well as I used some Prima packaging on this layout. The larger burgundy flowers I made myself and then tucked in some filler flowers. I used some Prima masks and distress inks for the masking all over the page.

In the middle section you can see more of the masking that I did, I punched out a few little hearts and added them to the layout. The butterfly is printed, then cut out and I added some stickles to it.

There are a couple of my flowers in the bottom cluster, and you can see the Dusty Attic leaves that I have altered with paints, inks and crackle accents. To finish off the layout I added some liquid pearls in each corner.

Here are a couple of side shots.

Well that was a fun fun layout to work with.  I hope that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it….have a fantastic week.  Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping J
