WCYDW at the Flying Unicorn

Hi everyone and welcome to this weeks WCYDW….today I am going to show you a couple of fun and easy ways to alter chipboard pieces.

Gelatos Crackle
I have a little Pictorial for you on how to use your Gelatos to make a crackle effect and a quick video on using Stampendous Embossing Enamels on chipboard.

I am using a chipboard piece from Dusty Attic, some cheap Elmers white glue, Gelatos and acrylic paint.

Step One:
Cover your chipboard piece with Gelatos. I have chosen to use two colors.

Step Two:
Mist the chipboard piece with water and blend the two colors with your finger.

Step Three:
Paint on a layer of glue now, not too thick. Now let this dry about 10 maybe 15 minutes. You want it to be tacky for the next step but not dry. Just touch the glue lightly with your finger and see if it is still tacky.

Step Four:
I have used some white dabber paint…just remove the top and dip in your paintbrush. You DO NOT want to do lots of strokes here because the glue is still tacky underneath, so just one stroke if you can.

Step Five:
Let this AIR dry now. If you try to hurry it up it will not crackle as well. This is after 15 minutes.

This is after 30 minutes. Pretty cool hey! I hope you give this a try. It is so easy.

I also have this short video on how I alter chippys with some Stampendous Embossing Enamel.

Here is the layout that I have created using these chippys on it.

I hope that  you all give these simple and easy chipboard alterations a try. Take care and  happy Scrapping.

Thankful **CT Flying Unicorn**

Hi everyone and yippee TGIF! I have a vacation day today so even better. I love jammie days where I can relax, go at my own pace, scrap a little bit yippee! I started this layout after work yesterday and finished it up this morning. It actually started out as just the tag, but once I was finished it I decided to add to a layout. The tag and layout are both on 13ARTS collection from the Flying Unicorn store. LOVE these papers and the Flying Unicorn has the NEW collections arriving very soon.  I have added in one piece of my own paper in the background. It is watercolor paper with some masking and Shimmerz for color on it. The photos are my grand daughter and we are very thankful for her.

The ribbons are all white seam binding, colored with Shimmerz mists and I crinkled them as I heat set them.

Here is a close up of the original tag I made. I have also added in a NEW chippy piece from Dusty Attic.

Well that is it for today. I hope that you all have a fantastic week! Don’t forget to stop by the Flying Unicorn store for all of the newest and greatest releases, there is a 30 PERCENT OFF EVERYTHING sale going on right now! Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping

100% Boy **CT Flying Unicorn**

Hi everyone and welcome! Today I have a quick post with a layout that I have made using the yummy new Studio75 Summer and Late Collection, now available in the Flying Unicorn store. These papers are just gorgeous and they distress perfectly! I have also used some Lindys Moonshadow mists and Shimmerz mists in the background, also a combination of Petaloo and Green Tara blooms and trims.

Love these Shimmerz drips, this mist has such a glimmer to it. Notice the title chippy is upside down..ya I didnt notice that until my daughter pointed it out to me  OOOPS hahahaha. Adds Character hehe :)

The cobweb trim and the cute little stars embellies are from Green Tara.

One more close up of the flower cluster…don’t look at the glue string eeek LOL! Funny how you notice that stuff AFTER you have taken the pics grrr hehe.

Well that is it for today. I hope that you all have a fantastic week! Don’t forget to stop by the Flying Unicorn store for all of the newest and greatest releases! Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping

caress **CT Flying Unicorn**

Hi everyone. Have you ever bought those 8x10 books from collections? You know the ones that have 2 or 3 of each paper in them. Well I have a few times and always have so much left over long after the 12x12 papers are used up. So I was going to try doing a collage page for my journal using one. BUT I loved it so much when it was done that I added a photo. Well then I loved it even more and thought now what…this is so nice I want to frame it. Then I spotted this 11 x 14 box frame in my room. Have had it forever and I also had a canvas the same size….soooooo why not use MORE from the book of papers for the background, put it all on the canvas so I can frame it. So here it is. This is a mixed media collage background inspired by Limor Webber. I have used a Prima Romance Novel 8x10 book, a Prima mask in the background on top of the collage and Kaisercraft flowers…all from the Flying Unicorn store. I have also used lots of Lindys Stamp Gang mists and NEW Dusty Attic chippys.

I chose these flowers because they matched the misting in the background just perfect!

These chippys are new from Dusty Attic, painted with gesso and misted with some Lindys Moonshadow mists. The metal pieces are from Fabscraps. The very outside layer is pieces of that same 8x10 book …pieced together.

I added in touches of liquid pearls to finish it off. This is going on my wall, to me the colors are so amazing.

Well that is it for today. I hope that you all have a fantastic week! Don’t forget to stop by the Flying Unicorn store for all of the newest and greatest releases! Feel free to leave me some scrappy love comments, I love reading them ...take care and happy scrapping.
